I graduated college 20 years ago and just took the Praxis El. Ed. Content Knowledge (0014) this summer (post-bacc education student). I passed with Recognition of Excellence (top 10%) and I think it is because I purchased this study guide, the Cliffs Notes study guide for 0014, and the study guide and sample tests from ETS when I registered for the exam online.
This REA review guide does NOT contain all the information on the Praxis 0014. In fact, the math section is so short, it fails to even cover 50% of the material. This test covers A LOT of material and no one book has it all. Buy this guide, the Cliffs Notes and the ETS study guide. Give yourself AT LEAST 2 months to read it through and study (at least 6-7 hours a week). The sample tests also help with time management: it is 120 questions in 2 hours: a minute per question is not a lot of time, so practice with a real time limit.

This book did help me with some preperation for my test, however, the questions that were on the test were not even close to being similiar to what was provided in this book. The book did a good of providing good study material for the social studies content. The practice test on the CD we helpful, but again the questions weren’t good examples of what the format it on the actual test.

I just got back from taking the test, and I have to say the book did not adequately prepare me AT ALL for the language arts portion of the test! I am pretty disappointed, because I feel that I will only pass the exam, and not get a greater score, because my language arts score will be low. As a matter of fact, I think this book helped with only about 5-10 questions out of the 30 on the test for language arts.
I am sure I did well on the other areas, because the reviews offered by this book helped a lot.
If you’re going to use this book, be sure to take the practice tests at the end of the book, and review the detailed explanations of the answers you got wrong. I felt that helped me the most in preparing for this test.
And If at all possible, use another source to review Language arts!!!

The exam on the disc just stopped working. I was able to take the first test, after that it went black. The questions and supporting images on the disc didnt match all the time. I returned it and bought the ebook from ets

This book is a great refresher for the topics that may appear on the Praxis II exam. I like how the sections are divided into the different categories. The practice exams in the book and on the CD are useful.
