I have worked as a teacher in both “gifted” and “regular” classrooms and have also served as district coordinator for gifted programs. Having an empirical base that helps one understand what works for varieties of gifted students and why is invaluable. This book provides a solid foundation based on best-practice research and offers clear, concise suggestions for designing and implementing programs that take into account all aspects of giftedness, including different areas of academic and creative abilities, disabilities, guidance and counseling needs, etc. Dr. Robinson and her colleagues also offer a variety of options that enable parents and schools to collaborate in order to offer the best possible programs with the resources available to them. This manual is a must-have for any educator hoping to offer quality, defensible guidance and instruction to gifted youngsters.

This book is intended to give the best practices in gifted education. It is very vague about the practices. Much theory but not a lot of actual advice. It may be good for a beginner or parent who wants to know the general options of gifted education.
