Music Grant and Scholarship Programs – Free Money
There is billions of dollars in free college grants, and music grants are just one of the many programs that can help students get the money they need to pay for college. These funds are available to millions of American students through private foundations and some government grant programs, but most art students are not aware that they exist. Once obtained, though, this is money that may be used to purchase art supplies, course fees and other educational expenses.
The benefit of obtaining an art grant over a scholarship or student loan is that this is money that never has to be paid back. With a scholarship, you always lose the risk of losing your scholarship by not meeting the qualifications, and student loans have to be repaid when you graduate or are no longer a full-time student. Art grants, on the other hand, never have to be repaid, and once approved they can often be obtained over and over again.

The Controversy Of Distance Education
It was just really nice to hear that there is a developing alternative method available for people to avail of education even outside the school premises. It was interesting to witness that the world has really been on its track towards globalization and progress. I agree that technological advancement is one of the most evident proofs for almost everyone. I believe that the development of distant education is on its way to being widely accepted by both students and educators because of its inherent and obvious benefits for parties (students and teachers), the government and the business sector. My stand is that distant education, online education, or interactive education, whatever anyone prefers, as an alternative method of knowledge acquisition cannot and should not replace traditional classroom education even if it be an indication of the world’s progress.
Andrew Feenberg, in his article entitled “Reflections on the Distance Learning Controversy” has clearly shown favor for the online education as one of the pioneers of such program. His admiration for the purpose of the program is so obvious when he said that “the virtual classroom was a place of intense intellectual and human interaction” (A. Feenberg). I am personally in favor of pursuing distant education, knowing that such method can help a lot non-traditional students. It maybe possible that “intense intellectual and human interaction”, as Feenberg claimed, can happen in online education. This is so because intelligent and smart students can be found anywhere else in the world, regardless of their nationality and age, as well as teachers. I also agree that such kind of students can be shaped by online education but like traditional classroom learning, the case is relative. I said so because learning depends on how eager and dedicated students are.

Community College Disadvantages
While there are many distinct advantages that can be associated with attending a community college there are a few disadvantages that I would be remiss in not mentioning. We all like to look at the positive side of things and the good in my opinion of community colleges, at least as a springboard for university learning far outweigh the bad. However, if you are considering community college as an option whether for your associate’s degree alone or have plans to move along to the university level upon completion you should see the big picture and not just the sunshine and flowers.
The first thing you should be aware of, and this applies primarily to those students with plans to transfer, is that you should always consult the college you intend to attend next in order to make sure that the courses you are taking on the community college level are compatible with the core requirements for the university. In many cases they are similar enough to be considered compatible but there are exceptions and it is better to find this out sooner rather than later. If you plan to attend a University that is located near the community college you are attending you should check and see if they have some sort of articulation agreement that will allow associate’s degree graduates to transfer seamlessly.
